La comprensión de la diversidad cultural y el comportamiento social requiere modelos que operativicen normas intersubjetivas compartidas. En este marco, el modelo de dignidad, imagen y honor permite evaluar las orientaciones normativas predominantes en distintos contextos socioculturales. El estudio tuvo como objetivo examinar las propiedades psicométricas de la escala de dignidad, imagen y honor en adultos jóvenes de Cuenca, Ecuador. Se empleó un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo instrumental y diseño observacional-transversal. La muestra consistió en 287 adultos (M = 21.8 años) seleccionados mediante muestreo por conveniencia. Se aplicó el instrumento de 16 ítems en una escala Likert de siete puntos. Se evidenció que mediante análisis factorial exploratorio con mínimos cuadrados no ponderados y rotación oblimin, se identificó una estructura tridimensional que explicó el 46 % de la varianza (RMSEA = .073; TLI = .878). Los coeficientes omega (.711 a .801) confirmaron una adecuada consistencia interna. Se concluye que el instrumento posee validez estructural y fiabilidad preliminar para evaluar normas culturales en el contexto andino estudiado
Understanding cultural diversity and social behavior requires models that operationalize shared intersubjective norms. Within this framework, the dignity, face, and honor model allows for the assessment of predominant normative orientations across different sociocultural contexts. This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the dignity, face, and honor scale in young adults from Cuenca, Ecuador. A quantitative approach was employed, using an instrumental and observational cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 287 adults (M = 21.8 years) selected through convenience sampling. The 16-item instrument was administered using a seven-point Likert scale. Exploratory factor analysis using unweighted least squares and oblimin rotation identified a three-dimensional structure that explained 46% of the variance (RMSEA = .073; TLI = .878). Omega coefficients (ranging from .711 to .801) confirmed adequate internal consistency. It is concluded that the instrument possesses structural validity and preliminary reliability for assessing cultural norms in the studied Andean context.
