El estrés cotidiano infantil puede afectar el bienestar psicológico y el funcionamiento de los escolares. El objetivo del estudio fue caracterizar las manifestaciones del estrés cotidiano infantil mediante el Inventario de Estrés Cotidiano Infantil (IECI) en una muestra de estudiantes de Educación General Básica. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal y descriptivo con 267 estudiantes de 7 a 11 años de instituciones educativas particulares. El estrés cotidiano se evaluó mediante el IECI y se analizaron estadísticos descriptivos. Los resultados evidencian que, la mayoría de los participantes se clasificó sin problemas de estrés; no obstante, se observaron variaciones descriptivas en las dimensiones escolar y familiar según el curso. Las diferencias descriptivas por sexo fueron pequeñas. Se concluye que los hallazgos aportan evidencia sobre la distribución del estrés cotidiano infantil en escolares ecuatorianos y resaltan la importancia de fortalecer la detección temprana y la promoción de la salud mental en el contexto educativo.
Childhood daily stress can affect the psychological well-being and functioning of schoolchildren. The aim of this study was to characterize the manifestations of childhood daily stress using the Childhood Daily Stress Inventory (IECI) in a sample of General Basic Education students. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive study was conducted with 267 students aged 7 to 11 from private educational institutions. Daily stress was assessed using the IECI, and descriptive statistics were analyzed. The results indicate that most participants were classified as having no stress-related problems; however, descriptive variations were observed in the school and family dimensions according to grade level. Descriptive differences by sex were small. It is concluded that the findings provide evidence regarding the distribution of childhood daily stress in Ecuadorian schoolchildren and highlight theEsta es una traducción técnica y académica, importance of strengthening early detection and mental health promotion within the educational context.
